Test Sail 2
Portland Harbour
Building on our successful first test where we achieved foiling at just 4 knots and validated our self-levelling hydrofoil system, Test Sail 2 advances our technical development with two major objectives.
Energy Harvesting Integration: We will reintroduce the turbine energy harvesting system to generate our first watts of renewable power while studying how added drag and centre of mass shifts affect flying dynamics.
Mass Positioning Research: Using cameras and gyroscopes, we will explore how fore-aft crew movement influences lift and stability, capturing real-time data on ballast and dynamics to inform future autonomous control systems.

TBAS Hackathon 2025
University of Bath
Our inaugural engineering hackathon brought together 38 students across 6 teams for an intense 24-hour coding challenge. Teams tackled a simplified version of the real routing problem our future autonomous boat will face - accounting for wind angle, heading, and optimal routes.
The results exceeded expectations: four out of six teams found the optimal route across all test maps, including the tiebreaker! This incredible display of talent and teamwork has set the bar high for future events.
